Hi there back again.

This project is sponsored by www.Ultimarc.com
 and www.Gameex.net.

Since the making of C-Macc's i got a little board and well i have been working on plans for c-macc's 2 - the revenge :) ...

This time around ive set my goals a little higher. Now instead of Buy a arcade system im going to build one from scratch. Now i think i did post about this before but since ive lost the post ill start a new one.

The whole systems is going to be loosely based around a jab namoi cab (might be spelt incorrect).

Again like c-macc's this system will be able to play every thing and i mean every thing. Ill let the Pics of the proto Type below speed for them selfs in the form of a Vid and Pics i made in Google Sketch up.

The Video is over here on Youtube ->

Now the metal frame is now on its 3rd revision and this was taken yesterday of the final version im happy with. Will be adding the mounts for the LCD with in the next few days.

The stand will be able to hold any thing from a 32" LCD / OLD to a 50" easily. Allso the LCD can be angled as well from 25 degrees to 90 degrees.

Im next to it just to show the frame size.

Time fly's when you having fun. Here is a 32" Samsung LCD Fitted. Ive taken photos at different angles on the frame. It will house up to a 50" Screen which might be just a little to big for most but when i get the chance ill show it with a larger screen later on. Time to crack on learning wood work now lol. if next time i come on and i cannot type its because ive never in my life used a new tool called a Circular saw that ive just bought hahaha ... finger liking good stuff .....

I let my son help with some of the wood work at first he was doing well .....

But then he got a little fed up with it not fitting correctly so he got some thing a little larger to use to cut the wood.

Yeh the CP is quite large but since its going to have a large screen with it when its finished you'll see the reason why.

Having four players toe to toe is a pain in the ass when playing games this way all players have plenty of room. All so don't forget that there is going to be either a dvd rom or Bd rom fitted into the CP as well as draw for Xbox 360 , ps3 , dreamcast , wii controllers. The whole Cp is going to be swappable for a 2 player only control system.

As for cherry i wouldn't know these are what andy sent me.

for got to add this CP is my test bed for the hardware it might not be the final CP.

Looks cool so far, but I just can't get to liking those buttons. Have you used Happs buttons before? I am wondering how they compare. I think the main thing I don't like about them is the chrome bezel. It just seems to me to cheapen the look. Otherwise, I'm liking the design. Any plans for cold cathode tubes in the computer portion? Or maybe blacklight with UV reactive dye in the liquid cooling system?

I Love the buttons to be honest they have a nice strong feel to them and they feel rigid with a good strong click when depressed. They feel like many of the arcade systems of days gone by, i felt a few years back when i was a kid. I know and fully understand these are not to every ones taste but ill back them up all the way. I have 14 of these buttons , 6 for each player and 2 x player buttons on my C-Macc's 1 and they have been in there nearly 9 months plus now and they have been hammered and work perfectly.

I have had the happ buttons but again i think its each to there own and i feel as thous are to soft and don't give the rigid feel that i would like on my buttons.

Yes i might be using Cold Cathode in the base of the system with die in the water cooling loops if and when i get round to fitting it all. Im not going to go to over board though as i think to much lighting kills the system looks. There are to many systems that are over lighted and its like "the only gay in the village" shouting out in the street atop his voice making sure every ones know that HE IS the only gay in the village while wearing a Velcro florescent tank top in pink and yellow just to prove it !!!!!!!.  :o hehe.

here are some Pics of the Buttons in my old C-Macc's

well last night i had a big cock up. I accedentley pulled off the wires to a £60 spintrak. Oh my did i cause some damage. This wasn't in any way the fault of the Spintrack but move over my fault for messing around with the CP and getting it caught of the frame work and while pulling it away ....

Lucky i figured out the pin outs and after a small amount of doing some retrace work and track repair and some soldering its now working again.

Next time ill be a little more careful ...

Why do you have what I'm assuming is a dedicated 4 way when you have 2 u360s?

I have 2 U360s and I'd still like a dedicated 4-way. No matter how good a job the U360 does, I still want the feeling of true 4-way physical restriction.

Total agree with what is bring said above yes 4 way feels better, Much better and help scores as well as my lass will tell you.

Any way a few more pics. Still working on the CP just added the base (not permanently though) Did some more work sanding down as you can see from the wood work my skills are real poor but at least im giving it ago. I still need to some how tail the back end off as i relay am not happy at the way it looks at the back end when fitted.

I wont be able to have the draw for the Joy pads but thats fine as i can add one in the main body. Still loads of work to do but pics below any way for you all to lol at my bad wood working stills but good wood filling skills .... lol

Last pic you can see i played with my new router hehehe .. i love its lol .. ill be routing every thing round the home now.

Need to go tidy the kitchen before the lass gets home else shell kill me ...

Been working a little more.

The CP has been Shrunk by 2.5" and the Frame arms have been cut by 2".

The Back peace has now got a False wall of 1.5" to allows cables to be hidden behind it. 1 Shelf inside has been added will do the second and third Hidden shelf for the electrics another time and loads of wood filler has been used again lol ...

Still loads of work to do but shes starting to take shape now.

False wall

I did the 7 buttons for 1 and 2 player and 3 buttons for the 4 ways and 3 buttons for the spinner / roller ball all so going to add 2 pinball buttons on each side of the cab. To be real honist the buttons feel quite natural compared to a normal 6 button lay out.

Well how i did the lay out was to take a standard template and then place my fingers over it and then i tested it on a separate board and all so tested it out with my kids and asked how it felt and they said it was good as the normal 6 button lay out was a little fiddly (there words not mine).

We then tested it out with buttons linked up to mame on the spare board i made and it played well. So yeh it feels different to a normal standard layout but much better.

A bit more work done. The keyboard tray has been made and installed. Cannot fit a side draw for the console pas as there is just not enough room which is just a shame.  Started to smooth off the wood for the CP and spray painted the cp with a under count just to protect it for now. Pics below of the work on the cp so far.

Still more work to do but until I get the rest of the parts I need for the CP this is the limit of work I can do for now….. Its now all down to when others can either deliver my parts or finish off the work that ive requested to be done ….

I notice your pinball buttons are aligned horizontally.  I think this is the first time I have not seen that done.  Any particular reason for not doing it?  Or for doing it the way you did?

I have been planning to do that with my new cp. It is just comfy. Then you can play Vpinball and your flipper and nudge buttons are easier to rest your fingers on. Still figuring out center nudge. Maybe a 3rd button on one side, or a button in the middle I could just bump with my belly? Also where is the plunger / plunger button?

plunger Button is the "enter Key" so Im going to map it to another button using my Ipac. It nice having a plunger button (or even a plunger) but kids tend to lean on the CP and while playing mame if the enter key is hit it causes problems (The plunger button works well for single player CPS  but multi player is not a good idea with kids). So No plunger buttons on the front of the system.

Yes you are correct as well with the Buttons at a angle it plays and feels much smoother for the nudge. Again did the set up my spending 10 min trying out different methods and found having them angled works best. Im not following any ones CP design except my own So you see a few differences from mine to normal Cps but there all personal taste and feel and nothing to do with a nostalgic look.

I was going to do a center Nug as well but haven't found a convent place to put it lol must admit :) ... It just feel correct when you put it on the side and feels fiddly and again cannot put it on the front as again it can easily be caught. Im not going For a tilt trigger on the inside of the system as my kids tend to get carried away and "Hit" the system for get the tilt to work so ill just do with out. Call it leaning from past mistakes.

So are the buttons just where they felt best or are they on a 45 degree angle.  Do you use the lower button and your middle finger for the flippers, leaving the higher buttons and index finger for the nudge?
