IPAC 4 Shift key help needed - YES I SEARCHED
« on: January 10, 2009, 06:58:10 pm »
No matter what I do, I can't get my shift key working properly. Andy told me to make sure the IPAC4 is not flashing any codes, which it was, but that is fixed now. P1 start is working properly, I can play a game and use just fine.

I go into the table view and it tells me that P1 Start is set as the shift key, but I've discovered that pressing P2 B2, is actually the shift key. When you press P2 B2, there is a delay to allow for the SHIFT key. You can see this as it light up in blue on the screen.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Ok, I confirmed that P2 SW2 (I called it B2 earlier, sorry) is showing as the default SHIFT key. If I try to set the SHIFT key to P1 START it, still keeps P2 SW2 as the SHIFT key, even though it says the P1/P2 SHIFT key is P1 START.

I tried starting from scratch, making the layout again and reassigning the buttons, but it still sets, P2 SW2.  Is this because that key is mapped to "S" key???

Can you try listing out all the keycodes using the interactive method (see www.ultimarc.com/interact.html) as a text file and check which is assigned to shift there?
You can also try a reset to defaults in the interactive menu.
