Power button on control panel

I have been lookin for the link to hook up a regular arcade button to turn on your arcade.  I've read it here before and I can't find it know.  Could someone point me in the right direction?

Just connect it to the power switch of the PC. The screen will wake from sleep at the same time. Only difficulty is an amp. Maybe you can have USB switch a power relay for that.

Thanks, that got me going in the right direction.  I have a momentary switch already installed, but I was wanting one mounted on the top of the arcade.  I didn't realize the arcade button would work.  I went down stairs and tried it out.  It worked great!

Don't use a momentary button. Switching the machine off is way too easy then.

My cabinet has two power buttons. One is a Happ concave button on top of the cab, which is wired through the Ipac and has multiple functions. In MAME, it's tab. In Mamewah, it's shutdown. Inside the coin door, I have a small service button wired to the motherboard handling the actual PC power button function.

Just set it to do nothing in windows power management, and hope noone holds it for 4 seconds. Or you could put a capacitor and resistor inline with it set so that it will only let a short pulse thru if held, that way it could only be used for turning on.
