6 button layout w/ I-Pac question
« on: January 07, 2009, 11:30:48 am »
For Mortal Kombat-type games how are the 6 buttons laid out to work with the factory I-Pac map. I want to make sure I wire the buttons up in the right order so I don't have to remap any key inputs.

Is it like this?:

P1 side            P2 side

    456                  456
J1                     j2
    123                  123

I'm also adding an X-Arcade trackball like many others have done. Should I switch 2 of the above buttons for mouse inputs (right- and left-click)?

if you dont want to remap things in mame...it should be:

123
456

switching two of them for mouse buttons should work great

For Mortal Kombat-type games

you keep asking qustions about fighting games and keep saying Mortal Kombat style, when you mean Street Fighter. MK never have a 3x2 layout (except converted SF games)

its just been buggin me.

severed got it right
123
456

MK is more like

___1___3
_____2__
___4___5
6_______

Thanks for the spanking

not my intent, sorry if I sounded like a dick. Im a HUGE MK mark, love it, but when I think 2 rows of 3 buttons I think Street Fighter not Mortal Kombat =)
