mame prebuilt controllers

ok...im new to mame. i was interested in the x-arcade controller due to the fact that you can connect a bunch of old systems through a connector that connects to the controller. but i think the classic controller from mameroom would fit me more. can the system adapters connect to these panels?

No. X-arcade uses their own encoder and their adapters only work with it.

I don't have the mameroom classic, but it looks to me that the kit comes with nothing but the sheel, and you need to supply the sticks, buttons, trackball, and encoder(s)?

If so, you can use the x-arcade encoder.  The i-pac has adapters to a few consoles, too.
