I stumbled upon a huge deal at work. I will soon have 16 video-wall monitors I need to get rid of. My source had a large display that they are now changing out. The old multiplexer is broken, and now just the screens are left. Due to weird reasons a bunch flaked on buying. Got 9 left:-)

Price is $25 each, just doing this to put some monitors in your guys cabs for cheap. The money is going to pay back myself for the renting of the truck, and paying my buddy for helping me lift em.

specs!

I could be interested depending on price. Not something I really need but . . .
It would be good to have some pics and the brand / model number to research.

Im not going to post photos right now, but they will most likely be $25 to cover my costs. I looked the brand up a while ago, and I know they are german without a website.

eeek these things weigh like 50 lbs which would need a huuuuuge box to keep it safe, and I would have to ship it ups oversize. It could cost around 100 just to ship this bad boy.

I hope to have all of these in my posession by next week. The company will be replacing them with a large plasma wall, and I can't take them until they receive the replacements.

well hmmmm. I'm going to have to do some calling around for this. I'll keep you posted. I guess I'm not against shipping, I just know how much it usually costs me, and didn't think anyone would even want to bother.

I was thinking that as you disassemble the setup, it would be good if you could keep a video cable with each monitor. The far end might not match but the video connection to the monitor would be good to have. I suspect that it is a 9 pin D connector not the "normal" 15 pin. The far end could be hacked to match what ever the user has.

Yeah right now they are connected to the video box ( this 25 year old dinosaur with a huge fan that has been jerry rigged to it) via cheap looking video cables. I think they are standard vga but I may be wrong. The only plug that I know is standard is the scart vga located at the center back of each screen. I will include a vga cable with them, but you will want to either make your own, or buy new ones for good signal quallity.

Yeah 105 lbs to all you guys wanting shipping. That will be very expensive. It'll cost like 3-400 to ship these.  I think Im going to go back to local unless you have a freight carrier at your disposal.

Edit: Checked ups ground -104.61 for malenko and snaake for each one. The only think is you can only insure it for 100 or less.

wait so what does it mean? is this a vga monitor that can do 640x480? and how do I get about  hooking up a standard 15 pin vga cable? just wanna hook up an xbox and dreamcast. Id still pay for shipping but I am taking one. someone else can take the other one seeing how expensive shipping is.

If you were going to run your xbox you would have to run vga at 480i and get a vga box for your dreamcast, and hack it to work at 15khz. Just think of this monitor as a standard rez arcade monitor.

thats more work then I anticipated as well. if you like I can give you the $25 until the unit is sold to someone else. I do appreciate the effort though.

I work at a museum and we have a similar video wall that utilizes 18 monitor cubes.  We've had it for 15 years and it's definitely showing wear...

Where I'm getting at, is I'm looking for alternatives to the multi-monitor video wall, and you mentioned a large plasma display... Could you tell me anything more about that?

I don't mean to thread hijack, and I'll go away if bothersome!

Got mine and the picture is great. I used the 9 pin cable that came with it cut the small round end off. I found the wires inside to be:
pins 1&2 ground the shield wire
pin 3 Red the Black wire
pin 4 Green the Brown wire
pin 5 Blue the Red wire
pins 7&8 Sync the Orange wire
The only problem is that the image has what I believe to be called a pincushion problem. The adjustment on the monitor does not correct. So there is still a challenge.

hmmmm I would say that the pin setting on the back may have gotten bumped, or could also be a sync issue. Have you tried running different resolutions? I know these were running prior to being pulled. It may that the hsize is set too low. Just lemmie know if there is still an issue and I can swap it for a different one.

I'd say hit up the monitor forum for tips, I know of about 4 guys there that could probably be able to help. The worst case scenario would be messing with the rings on the back of the crt.

Looks like it was just a problem with the monitor and the board. Mame ran fine:-)

So anyway, these are back on sale due to a bunch not being able to come through. If youd like one, come on by. Local only please:-)

The monitor works great. It is just that each input type takes some adjustment to get it just right.

I have found that some game boards require more width than the standard external controls allow. The vs 10 yard fight seems to be one of those boards. I have not yet found the internal control to adjust the width more.

Using either the composite video or RGB from an AVGA video card I can get it to work just fine.

Will these work on a SF II arcade cabinet?  How's the picture quality in these? How hard would it be to install one of these, as i have a sf2 arcade cabinet & only thing missing is a monitor...

The picture quality is great! As far as weather they would work on that board I would like to say yes, as this monitor takes board resolution, but I would not be able to test it for you. As far as ease of install, you would need to modify your mounting setup as they are allready in a case, but other than that probably nothin. I just set mine in my cabinet so far.

andi - offer to set up the shipping yourself. Like, get a fedex account or something, and you can set a pick-up for his address. They may even box is for you, though I don't know how reasonably-priced, and then all he has to do is be there for them to pick it up.

I like this idea. I would be more than happy to drop it off somewhere, but boxing and securing it for shipping are not really my forte. I know if I were in charge of packing it it would break on the way.
