Disabling windows desktop on startup?

Hey guys,w hat's the best way to disable the windows desktop on start up? I don't want friends and family seeing windows load before my frontend kicks in.

What you are asking to do is 'Shell' the OS into another program loading after Windows comes into play.  The Wiki tells you all about it.
