Scored some sweet games from ebay!!!
« on: December 18, 2008, 06:37:08 pm »
In the last two days i bought a golden tee fore 2005 board and HDD for $150, a wwf wrestle fest pcb for $40 and a TMNT 4 player PCB for $35 Description of the TMNT PCB  said it was in a warehouse with some other arcades and there was a small fire and the cabinets got smoke damaged. The pcb smells like smoke but the seller claimed all boards were tested working so i figured i would take a chance.

I want to build a cab but I'm limited right now on budget and space. I will either build a GT fore or i think i may combine TMNT and Wrestlefest into a single 4 player cab with a 2 in 1 jamma. I would like to use either a 17" or 20" lcd screen for the cab that i decide to build. Ive looked at a few converters including the jrok and ones on this site  http://www.arcademvs.com/ARCADE_ACESSERIOR.htm. What should i do? Any suggestions? This will be my first attempt at building a dedicated cabinet. So i may need some help in the near future.

I just thought i would share because TMNT and wrestlefest are a few of my favorite games because i remember playing them back in the day. So I'm very excited to get them. Lets keep our fingers crossed that they work.

 Off to do more research.

Always nice to get something that you really want to play.  :applaud:

If you wait a while, I believe that Rick Nieman may have some LCD options for classic games in the works.

Yeah i cant wait to get them up and running!  Is Rickn gonna make an lcd with built in convertors? Would someone please chime in who has used a lcd with a dedicated cabinet, with all these folks on here im sure there is at least one. I just want to know my options and what would be the best way to do this. Also any thoughts on a small design for a four player cabinet?

There was one guy here who has a project that I can't find right now (was a scratch-built JAMMA cab) and he used an LCD designed for arcade use.

I'm not sure what Rick has in mind, other than I know he is looking to test some classic boards with some form of LCD display.

Billabs has had multi-sync LCDs, and I recall that's what Rick is working on. CGA to XGA I think.

Thanks for the billabs info! So using one of those lcds will eliminate the need for an adapter? I can just get one with a 6 pin sync and be good to go? Which 17" lcd from their site will work for standard res and medium res (GT Fore) arcade games? How much do their lcds cost, or am i missing the prices somewhere?
