The Capcom KingPin I played was also at the former Nickel City in Scripps Ranch.  If that was a rare game (someone mentioned it "never made it to production"), maybe it was a test site or something.   After all, Nickel City was owned by Capcom at the time!

There is a Big Bang Bar in a small seasonal arcade in RI.  I take the wife and kids there a couple times a summer because it's also a privately run fresh water beach.

Blanka,

I forgot to ask, is that your machine pictured above?

Space Shuttle, Williams, 1984
I'm no pinball expert but I really liked this game when it was in my hometown back in the mid 80's...
Would loved to played this again....

Agreed.   Lately I been liking this game over Pinbot (for 80's games).  Pinbot was a favorite for a LONG time.  It still is a favorite, but I recently been taking a liking to Space Shuttle more.   I know I didn't mention this in my post, but as I said in that post, I have many 'favorite' machines.

As for the test site in Illinois, I wondered if it might have been Super Just Games.  This arcade was also owned by Capcom (the same folks that ran Nickel City, Yellow Brick Road, and Metropolis arcade chains).

I had a chance to try out a ton of pins when I went to the Pinball Hall of Fame in Vegas last year. I came away with an understanding of why Twilight Zone has such a good reputation, same with LOTR. Great games. I also found out that I hated some of the new games like Pirates of the Caribbean, Monopoly, and Spider-Man. Ultimately, I zeroed in on two games that I kept going back to, Data East Time Machine and Frank Thomas Big Hurt. Big Hurt especially kept me interested, great theme (although I wish it was just baseball, not Frank Thomas), cool playfield stuff, and great sound effects. I played that one a lot. Time Machine had a great theme with fun sound effects and when you get back to the 1950's it actually starts making the sounds with real bells like old pins from the 1950's. Cool gimmick. I've been keeping my eyes open for both of those and finally got a Time Machine this past weekend. $780 in nice shape. Needs new rubber rings and a flipper rebuild but it will be really nice once I have those done. Now to find a Big Hurt.  8)

Someone brought a King Pin to CAX last year.  I played it and it sucked pretty badly.  Boring as hell.

The whole "forbidden fruit" thing really taints the perception of some of the rarer games.

At the pinball show in Chicago this year there was a Big Bang Bar. I tried to play it but there was always a line 3 or 4 deep.  :'(  It looked awesome though.
