Free cab to a good home... [US/PA/Altoona]
« on: December 10, 2008, 11:02:08 am »
hey guys, i have a cabinet that i no longer have room for and I would like to get rid of it.  It is currently being stored in my friend's garage, and he wants it to be out of there.

here is the cabinet in question:

it has been altered a little since that pic, i'll try to take an updated pic of it later.  it is an empty cabinet, the monitor was severely burnt in and not working, so i trashed it.  it comes with the cardboard bezel, monitor glass, speaker, marquee, coin door, with one mech.  i used the sticks and buttons in another project, so the control panel is empty.    there are now two 4 inch holes in the front board under the panel, where i had mounted holders for my light guns.

so if anyone is interested, you can have the cabinet if you come get it in Altoona, PA.  if i dont hear anything in a few days, i'll post it on craigslist.

Sweet side-art on that thing. Would make a very nice looking MAME cab for someone.

it is a great cabinet..i bought it and used it as a playstation 2 powered light gun cabinet for a few months.  i was going to go all out and mame it at some point, but we bought a house, and the basement isn't suitable for a gaming area.  i had enough room for one cabinet in my family room, so i kept my first one that i put the most work into.  the side art is in pretty good shape, there are a few scratches and things, but nothign too bad.  i was going to put it out on the sidewalk and hope someone took it, but my friend offered to put it in his garage.  it has been there for a few months, and he decided he isn't going to do anything with it. ( he already started his cabinet, with a 36" monitor and 4 player panel)

so if anyone wants it, it is yours...i'll wait a few days and then post it on craigslist or something.

Beautiful cab!  I'd be ALL over that if it weren't for the fact that my wife would insert a gun up my  :o and pull the trigger for bringing home another....

Someone save that good looking creature!   ;)

I'll Take it!

I just finished my mame cab and my uncle wants me to make one for him, so this would be a great candidate for the project!

I will need to work out the logistics of getting a truck but that shouldn't take long.

I will pm you my contact info

Wow, that is a gorgeous cabinet.

I love the bezel artwork, looks like you're in a cockpit, really awesome theme altogether!  The only weird thing is the huge CP base, but that would be a great candidate for a Spinner/steering wheel attachment. Either that, or create yourself some artwork on that CP base and repaint the black parts to go with the sideart! (I'd suggest that blue from the sideart, or perhaps gray with some dials and knobs to continue the look of being inside of a cockpit)

If I were in your area I'd be all over this cabinet.

Though the quality of the game might be questionable - I don't recall ever seeing or hearing about it - the cosmetic quality speaks strongly for keeping it as original as possible. Weird cab though as it's made for lefties?

well,  first of all, thanks to mybrainhurtz, this cabinet will get a good home.

that cabinet was originally a two tigers cabinet that was converted to p47 phantom fighter.   i have no idea why anyone would put the sticks on the right of the buttons on a control panel, seems unplayable to me.  two tigers had flight yokes that attached to the panel underneath the other control panel.  i was planning on installing steering wheels on it eventually, but never got around to it. i was also going to paint it orange and black, tiger striped..but once again, never got around to it.  I hope mybrainhurtz puts it to good use...if it were a plain black cabinet, it wouldnt' have been so hard just setting out for someone to take, but with artwork like this intact, i really wanted to know that it would go to someone who will do it justice.
