To me that does not look like too great of a loss.

The guns, monitor, marquee, coin mech, board, etc. are worth more than $88 so I'd say it was a loss.  If it freed up some space then maybe it was worth it?

That's the market right now.  Anything that's not an A list title may as well be kindling.

That's the nature of eBay. I remember selling my Atari 5200 collection and getting pretty much nothing for it. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

The last few thigns I've sold have went for about 30% less than what I wanted. Luckily for me, I only sell on ebay stuff that I make money on even at the starting bid.

I'd be inclined to say something untoward has happened to it and it's not sellable as advertised. Not quite cosher but what a shitter damn   :timebomb:

Na, that wouldn't be cool at all. Didn't set his auction up with insurance (not 'insurance', mind) so he takes his lumps.

Agreed with Ummon (where's the :shudder smiley?) ... set your starting bid at what you are willing to accept and go from there.

No need to be sarcastic, I'm sure you're golden too sunshine. Of course it is but, I'm sure this guy is saying ebay sucks right now too being on the receiving end. Although it is his fault for not putting a reserve on it, not sure why you wouldn't  :dunno

You're saying you can pick up fully working Area 51's in decent shape for about $90 locally?

No, I think he was 100% right to be sarcastic ... stupidity like you suggest is the big reason why eBay is sucking more and more. Fees and Paypal are only signposts on this journey-- stupid behaviour by buyers and sellers is is what is really killing eBay (for coin-op at least).

I have had a couple of instances where people pulled the same kind of --cream-filled twinkie-- crap when their auction weren't fetching what they wanted. And there have been folks who have had to eat my $1.23 bid and were gracious about it. Those folks get my repeat business and more generous bids in the future (and my business outside of eBay).

I wish there was somewhere like this in the UK. The vendors are really tight over here and usually only destroyed cabs they want to knock out for reasonable prices.

I can check. Last time I was there he had one that was pretty much so mint in his "so called" show room, I think that one would run you a little more than $90.

I live in a small area and this guy is getting out of the buisness and not taking on anymore accounts. Where I live, no one wants to buy this stuff... I mean let's face it, home video games is where it is at for today's youth. I have a feeling that this guy wants to dump his stock cheap because it takes up so much room and he wants to move on to other things.

This is starting to curiously sound like a 'warehouse run'.

Well, just because people list 'em for loads, doesn't mean they sell for it. What's the big deal, anyway?

Too bad I didn't live in New SouthWales... I would have dropped a good 300 AUD or more on that... Even if shipping were allowed, it would prolly cost a grand to get it to where I live, maybe more...

So where exactly is this small area? General location is fine.

I live in WV, which is pretty small time and there is no way I could find a price like that from any vendor unless it was an empty wood box.
