This article has nothing to do with statistics.  Only one alderman's opinion on the subject.  The fact that the crime rate is not spread around much of a population is not really refutable.

Right, and my experiences as someone who lived there for two years aren't relevant to a person that's going to live there for 2 years?

Got it.

Well good then we are clear.

But seriously you paint this city in such a bad light it was necessary to point out that you present strong, opinionated positions from the basis point of living here 2 measly years.  As I stated, I have lived here my entire life, except for my 4 years away at college and I'm no expert on all the advantages/disadvantages of this city.  So how exactly have you become such an expert in two years?  You know what you could have really had a bad experience here and thats OK but it doesnt mean someone else will and it certainly doesnt make the city as terrible as you make it sound.  Two different people who live in NY could have exact opposite experiences, one may like it and one may hate it.  Does that mean NY is an aweful city because one of the two hated their experience there?  Like I stated earlier, except for maybe a handful of cities there are few perfect places to live and each comes with its own bad/good.
