player 2 switch 5 and 6 not working
« on: October 31, 2008, 05:11:45 am »
Hello,
Please can somebody help me here... I have built a control panel, and it looks great and everything seems to be working but when I play fighting games P2S5 and P2S6 dont respond accordingly.  They do nothing...

When I test the buttons in the WINIPAC it registers that I am pressing them, so the wiring is ok... it's just that they don't do anything in game.  Is this a limitation of the rompacks I am using?  Is it just coincidence that all the ones I've tried haven't had buttons mapped to those moves?

So player one can:

soft punch, medium punch, hard punch
soft kick, medium kick, hard kick

But player two can only:
soft punch, medium punch, hard punch
soft kick

Has anyone else seen this happen?  Please help its really annoying!!  :banghead:  :notworthy:

By default, Mame does not assign key strokes to those buttons.  You simply need to hit TAB -> Input all games then assign both of those buttons.  Button 5 is "I" and Button 6 is "K".
