Has anyone tried this with a four player cabinet
« on: June 16, 2003, 02:56:18 pm »
I'm sure it's possible, but has anyone made a cabinet where the 1 and 2 player controls could be removed and replaced with a yoke, tron setup,or other control setup but players 3 and 4 would remain attacted to the cabinet?

Valence was working on a fiberglass control panel awhile back that has this feature.  Here's the link to the topic.

It wasn't finished, but the pics there give a pretty good indication of what it's going to look like.  I don't recall ever seeing a cabint with this feature though.

That is a cool idea, swapping out the middle piece.  I am just about done with my cab which features a rotating control panel with 3 sides.  None of my 3 sides are 4 player, but you could make the panels larger or just rotate the middle part (using Valence's idea in a way).  You can have your tron sticks and stuff on the other 2 sides.  My website still doesn't have pictures of my control panels though I'll be adding them soon (if I can ever stop playing them long enough to post them).  1UP (www.1uparcade.com) has a 3 way rotating panel as well, different than mine but just as effective.  He seems to be a big tron fan, so one side is strictly Tron controls....

:) Rotate or die! :)
