Options menu taking forever to appear

Lately, when selected, the MaLa options menu takes twenty or thirty seconds to appear. As this started after the inclusion of a U360 (I was using the Ultrastik plug-in, also), I thought maybe it was related to that, but I disconnected and uninstalled them, respectively, and no change. It' mostly just an annoyance, but I'd like to fix it if possible. Not sure what to troubleshoot, here.

(PC is a late-model P4 2.8 with XP SP3.)

Hmhmhmhm. I'll futz around some more an see what I can come up with.

Well, I was having some other issues with my U360, related to game pad calibration in Windows (vs the automatic calibration of the stick itself), and having rectified that seems to have fixed this problem, too. In essence, don't calibrate the stick in Windows.
