Drilling out CP and overlay

I just got back the artwork I sent out for printing with Scott at Mame marquees. It looks awesome!

Now I need to figure out the best way to get the holes drilled in the wood and the overlay stuck on and cut out!!!

I know a lot of you guys are pros out there. Please let me know what the trick is so I don't screw this up! I will not be using plexi over the top of the CP.

I attached a pic of the overlay. It's a rework of a Centipede/Missile Command reunion machine which is my theme.

Looks nice 

Cut your CP wood to shape and then tape your artwork in place.
Use a sharp pointy object and poke it through those '+'s on your art and into the wood base.



This example is on metal:



Then drill all your holes with a hole saw.

Once you have done all the holes, sand and paint your cp then stick your art down (if you want). You could just lay it under the plexi though.

No probs.

The good thing about punching with something sharp is that it gives your holesaw guide bit something to sit in so it doesn't wander around before it bites. It also makes sure you get your holes in the right place instead of trying to measure with a ruler etc.

If you are using MDF don't go all the way through. Go to about half way, flip your wood over and drill from the bottom to complete the hole.
