clickable images on website
« on: October 07, 2008, 10:15:26 am »
I need to have an image on our sharepoint website be clickable.  I would like to be able to have 3 different links on the same image, is this possible?  If so could someone post the html code so I can figure out how to do it.

thanks

Normally a clickable image wouldonly have one link. I guess you are lookign for an imagemap or something?

If so then maybe a thread like this can help:
How to make Image Map on sharepoint

Good luck doing that in Sharepoint... I can't stand the stuff I have to do on that platform.  Makes my eye twitch.

That's the old school way of doing things.

Well I have no idea what he means with three links from one image. I'm guessing he wants something elaborate otherwise it wouldn't have been so difficult that he couldn't figure it out himself.

If possible I would probably chop it in 3 parts too.

the way our sharepoint works I can't have 3 separate images in a row and look like one image.  I think the imagemap should work

If you have access to adobe image ready it is pretty straightforward.

so I have tried to make a image map and for some reason I can't figure it out.  Would some like to try and do it for me?  What I need is a different link for each airport logo, you can use and link you want as long as I can edit it.  once I can see the code I can change it, at least I think I can.

Not sure what you got, but if the clickable area's stay the same I doubt you need to change anything.

Best is to use 1 image, and 3 css elements that overlay the image. Something like here. Choose "Display Source"
This way you can give any coordinates to the hotspots.

And I would definitely recommend desaturating that background image.  It's brighter than the text and makes it hard to read.
