2 quick problems.

iam sure both of these have a very easy fix


1) the tops of the u360s keep coming loose no matter how tight i make them  even with that small metal ring on... iam thinking about taking a channel locks to them wrapped in a towel, but i wanted to see if iam missing somthing before i do this.



2) my turbotwist 2 isnt working at all, its plugged in and everything.  Trackball works perfect, but nothing at all from tt2 spinner, what am i overlooking?

Have you inserted a flathead screwdriver into the end of the shaft and tightened the top while twisting in opposite directions? Mine never have come loose. All else fails, a drop of crazy glue would do the trick.

I know on the balltops, the shaft has a screwdriver slot on the end where the magnet attaches. Slide a flathead in there, and hold it steady while you twist the top on tight.

I thought the bats were the same.

I've had that problem with my TT2.  Turns out it's the USB motherboard connection.  I don't know why, but when I plug it in a certain USB port, it doesn't work.  When I plug it into another, it works just fine.

You could also consider adding a drop of loc-tite to the threads of the u360s. When dry, it should hold them fine.

I had a problem on my TT2 where a wire came off the board, you may want to check that.  I was pretty disappointed in how easily it came disconnected.  It was a quick fix and works great now though.

Not sure if you got one of the first ones that we started soldering the power connections to way back when, but a handful went out without the wires being strain relieved and they didn't do so well in shipping.  This issue was dealt with pretty quickly and shouldn't be happening on anything shipped in the last year+.  If anyone has any issues like this on a recent unit, they should definitely let us know so we can get to the bottom of it.

As for the issue the OP is having, I'll need a lot more info before I can begin to troubleshoot it (email is best..please try again if you already sent one.)  Generally, you plug in the TT2 and it goes.  The only time one USB port should work and another not, is if one of them already had a number of USB devices on it which the PC thought was maxing out the available power.

In limited use, I've never had trouble with my late-model TT2.  However, I've had USB trouble of the same nature with a hard drive. Just a certain outlet didn't wanna always work. I was told it might be a lack of enough power to all outlets.

click: loc-tite is an industrial product made for exactly this. Works wonders.

Blue Loc-tite is gonna be alot easier if you have to break them out down the road.

I guess I don't know what Loc-tite is exactly. Someone explained it to me as being crazy glue, but I guess their description was wrong.

Loc-tite IS a sort of glue...but it comes in different strengths and is designed to HOLD but with a breaking point low enough to remove the part in the future.

It's often used in conjunction with threads to "Loc-tite" the nut to the thread.
