Best Multi-Player Arcade Control Panels?
« on: June 14, 2003, 09:26:12 am »
I'm thinking of redesigning my future Mame cabinets and was wondering what you folks consider some of the better multi-player arcade control panels are...  Then I could use them for inspiration in crafting my new control panel.

My current design has the player 3 and 4 joysticks mounted at a 45 degree angle, which makes some games tricky to play.  If I mount them just like the other sticks, then you are forced to twist your wrists to play from the side.

I was thinking of a T-like design where all player face forward, and all joysticks mount normally.  But the player 1 and 2 controls would stick out so far that the control panel might break and fall off if weight is applied (yikes!).  Stregthening the underside with L-brackets, etc. might help, but a complete redesign of my cabinet might be necessary to do it right...

Thats odd, because I dont twist my wrist when playing on the side of somones cab, maby it depends on how you hold the handle... ?

You could make double mounting holes, so that you could change them, if need be.... no?
