Common buttons used for VPinball in MAME Cabinet
« on: October 06, 2008, 11:47:13 am »
I am just configuring my cabinet and recently tried VPinball with PinMAME and was wondering how everyone has configured their buttons?

I will probably put "flipper" buttons on the side of my cab.  I will probably put two buttons on each side of the cabinet, one for the left/right flipper and one to left/right tilt.  Also in the Black Knight game it uses magnets, so they tilt buttons will be used for that.

Do most people map those flipper and tilt buttons to button1 and button2 for player 1 and player 2?  Or are they mapped to different keys?  What is the most common button used for the plunger?  The default is "Enter" but I do not plan to have that mapped, so I am not sure what I will make the plunger.  Add Credit will be "5" and Start will be "1".

I just want to get some peoples thought that have done this already and see what seems to work the best.

I have 2 buttons per side.  1 flipper and one tilt.  I use a real pinball plunger (mapped to ENTER) and also a center tilt button as well that is on the front of the control panel and is easy to bump when playing pinball.

I have all of my pinball buttons tied into my normal control panel buttons.  My right flipper and tilt is tied to player 4, left is tied to player 3.  5 = credit, 1 = start  For credit I have a working coin door and also shifted button (Hold P1 and push P1SW1), Start is my normal start button on my control panel.
