Controller Question
« on: September 28, 2008, 04:03:03 pm »
I just realized that I may have wired myself into not being able to play anything but MAME.  I have the GGG encoder wired to all of my player buttons and I also have the Ultimarc Ultra Joys.  The issue is they are both seen as separate joysticks by the other emus like Project64 and Null DC for instance.  So when I pick a joystick to define the controls I have a choice of buttons only or joystick control only.  Is my only option to get the button harness from Ultimarc and wire the Ulitmarc joys to the buttons? If I do this is there any risk of damage since I already have the GGG encoder wired to said buttons?  Will woody go straight to the police?

Thanks

P

Joy2Key (google it) might be one option.  It turns Joystick directions into keypresses.  You should be able to get everything, relatively, to be a keypress from the joy.  However your going to lose the 'analog' nature of the joystick.  Not sure if it works in reverse or can convert say, a keypress into a button on a specific gamepad.  Autohotkey may be able to help there as well.
