Space Ace Lighted Function Buttons
« on: September 28, 2008, 01:16:32 pm »
I’m about to take on a project involving Daphne & an old stripped Space Ace cabinet.  I want full functionality including the lighted difficulty buttons.  The buttons in question are the Atari-style cone/volcano buttons.  They are the “Cherry” buttons with the LED.

I have seen this discussed in a few places around this site, included here....

My problem is that I am an absolute idiot when it comes to schematics.  I see schematics have been posted, but I do not know how to read them.  I managed to figure out the scoreboard on my own, but these lights are confusing me.  I wanted to get that Gamecab LED driver board to try and keep this simple, but it looks like they are not available anymore.

So, I understand how to wire them up for the keypress.  That should be no different than a normal control panel button.  Is there someone who has done this that could give me some guidance on the lighting end of this?  I just don’t understand the placement of the resistors.

Thanks.
