Need some opinions!
« on: September 28, 2008, 11:11:38 am »
I made a post a couple days ago about a guy needing to sell 5 cabinets. I waited all weekend, and didnt hear from the guy. In the meantime, I had another person contact me about his cabinet. He said that its a TMNT 2-Player arcade that looked like it was an old WWF WrestleFest cabinet before. Here is the link to the pic of the cabinet:

I'm looking to convert a cabinet to a MAME cabinet, and the good thing about this cab is that its in really good condition, he said the monitor works perfectly.

The only downside I see is that the control panel looks small. I want to build a SF2 style control panel, with the usual 8-way joystick, and six buttons per player. How hard would that control panel be, from the looks of the cabinet??

The guy told me that he would sell it to me for $200.

There would be no problem MAMEing it and making a SF2 CP out of that, even going so far as converting the one there into a SF2 layout (add new holes)...however...

$200 is steep IMHO.  Unless you like the marquee A LOT and the cab has really good sideart...

If it has the TMNT boards in it, you could sell those to make back some of it, but just seems steep to me for a MAME cab.
