T-molding mutilation
« on: September 28, 2008, 07:37:58 am »
hey all ;D

i know this question has probably been asked over and over again but can anybody tell me the cons of getting tmolding and cutting off the vertical part off it and just gluing the tmolding top part onto the edges of the cabinet instead of routing the groove and putting it normally because i have no access to a router.

i know people are going to say "just buy a router, they are cheap", "rent a router" or "buy regular molding" but seeing as i am a 13yr old kid with no money, buying or renting a router isn't really an option because it costs heaps to do both of those things. i have also looked into buying regular molding but none of it was right and none of my local hardware stores carry the stuff.

so... yeah. just wanted everyone's opinions

Yes. Psychotech has done this (you can lookup his cabs). It'll work, but the problems are it's difficult to replace and more difficult to attach.

Depending on where you live, you might find a BYOAC member close by to route the groove for you.  It takes just a few minutes.

I'd do it, but I live in Southern VT.

You have a Dremel and 120 cutting discs? I just used one to cut about 6 inches of groove in some patchwork. Worked nicely, but youll end up with a bunch of half discs.

Make sure when you go to visit Bones that somebody else knows what time you'll be going there, and tell them if you don't call by a certain time to just send the police.

I'd also have my cell phone in my pocket and dial "9-1" and just hold a finger over the 1

;)

I guess the response time from American cops can't be any worse than from the Sydney P.D.

Now in a tasty new flavour.
