Battlezone-like control with "real" tanks

Thought this was a neat concept toy...

Anyone try anything like this?
I've got an RC tank that allows independent control
of treads but it doesn't have an IR firing/sensor hookup.

Thats pretty awesome.  I seem to remember another set like this but it featured infantry that would pop up if hit.  That set was more scifi inspired though.

I have an abrams somewhere that is also rc.  The turret didn't rotate by itself though and it did have odd battery requirements.  Thanks for reminding me that I have to get a rc helicopter (radioshack has a Blackout one).
Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.

I recently got an Air Hogs Havoc copter- -- local Target had them on sale for $25. (vs $29, ooo)   Kinda fun but hard to control.

Was just at Toys R Us today and seemed like there were a TON of copy cat helicopters out there, wonder if it will be a hot toy this Christmas...
