Mounting Wico joystick in wooden cp
« on: March 11, 2002, 08:38:23 pm »
Any one have any problems installing a 4-way balltop Wico Joystick in a wooden 3/4 inch control panel?  I have seen the ms pacman/galiga joystick and don't see how they could be mounted in a wooden cp.  So I have to go with a Wico.  Any ideas as apprieciated.

I had to use a router.  I know that's the obvious answer but I don't think there are any alternatives.  A small amount of extra effort but it's worth it.

I used 1-4 directional and 2 8-directional wico leaf joysticks in a 3/4 inch oak CP.  I just mounted them to the bottom with carriage bolts.  I used the 4-way from videoconnect.com, so I'm not sure if the shaft is longer than the one you have.  I have no problems with it at all.
