Newly installed Mala - background problem

When I launch Mala I get the Space Invaders planet background.  When I change to another layout.  I get no background?  The layout is there and works, just without and background image. 

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

I have tried this on a converted layout as well as the V549e layout I downloaded from MalaFe.com.

This is still new to me but I thought I'd try to help out.

It sounds like you have the .mll in your Layouts folder but you don't have a matching folder with the same name with your background image in it. 

C:\Emulators\mala\Layouts\yourlayout.mll
as well as
C:\Emulators\mala\Layouts\yourlayout\yourbackground.jpg
