Kings of Steel
« on: September 10, 2008, 11:43:06 pm »
I am going out this saturday to take a look at a "Kings of Steel" pin that a guy has listed in the local paper.
He claims it is in good shape and apparently has not been played for some time, he is asking $750.00.
From my poking around on the web it seems to be only worth about $550.00 to $600.00 do you have any thoughts on the machine or the price. I know it is hard for you to make an real judgement call from post, but I figured it could not hurt to ask. This would be my first machine.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Yes it is local to me, I'm going to go out on saturday to take a look at it.
Is there anything I should be looking for?

I just don't want to get ripped off on my first purchase :)

Thanks,

Bowman9

Check the condition of the backglass, pull it if necessary.  And play a few games/eyeball the playfield.  That should take care of everything you need to see.

Just to keep you up to date I went and checkout the pin today, the cabinet, playfield, and backglass were all in very nice condition, some of the lights were out but I saw no major flaws. I played it and well it did not seem like that fun of a machine so I passed on it. The guy was nice and said he was moving within the month so it had to go.

So if any one is in the West Chester PA area and is interested they might want to check it out.
