u360 Wiring Harness?
« on: September 05, 2008, 05:27:35 pm »
Can anyone confirm the order of the wire colors in the u360 wiring harness?

I bought 2, but skipped the wiring harness because I had some spare mobo usb connectors lying around (same pin layout). I can make the harness, but I don't know which pin goes to which color.

If anyone could fill me in, that would be awesome. Thanks!

Did you check the u360's install page?  It gives the order.  The only thing not clear is which side it starts from.  (I can double check when I get home.)

Well, it gives which color corresponds to which input/output, but judging by some (small) images of the wiring harness on the site, that order doesn't relate to which pins are which. I have a guess that I'm going to play with, but I'm hoping I don't fry my I-PAC or u360 before I figure it out.

I was just hoping someone with a wiring harness could just confirm the order of the colors.

I was able to figure it out (for the record on the first try!). To make it work, Keep joystick analog has to be checked, but whatever map you download will be what's used for the digital out.

I want to use the pins for input (3 buttons), but also didn't get the wiring harness..is there a pin diagram that shows which pin is pin 1?  I understand what each pin is for, just not which pin is which as they aren't marked on the board anywhere...

thanks,
matt

the connector has 9 pins
bottom row has 5, top has 4
bottom:
black, red, yellow, blue, gray

top
none, brown, orange, green, purple

black - ground
brown - b1
blue - b2
orange - b3
yellow - --BINGO! Either that, or I was attempting to say "before" but it was too many letters to type--
green - b5
red - b6
gray - b7
purple - b8

i hope that helps

The auto censor got you. Someone is attempting to save the English language from total annihilation, or maybe it's another way of saying..."Damn kids, get off my lawn!"

you apparently cannot type the letter "b" followed by the number "4" because it thinks you are stupid and are too lazy to type the word before.

below, i will type b4, and it will automatically replace it.
