Okay, I know that this could probably be considered a "project announcement", but since this is so far in advance of starting and I'm still not even sure if it will ever start, I didn't want to make another announcement only to have it die in the planning stages.
Basically, after seeing website about oversized NES and SNES controllers, I thought it would be cool to make an oversized classic NES console and run an emulator inside of it. I have some room in my living room under the table that my TV, Cable Box, and DVD Player are on. I could make the console about 12" high which would give me enough room for the computer inside. The area where the cartridges would go could be used to store a wireless keyboard and mouse so that I can navigate through the computer when I need to and not be stuck right next to the console.
All of the conector sizes would be scaled up with the real size ones still able to fit inside of them. (E.G. for the controllers the ports on the console would be pretty big, but in the middle of that big port there would be a normal sized controller connector. The interior of the console would have th NES to USB adapter to hook up with the computer).
I went on e-bay and got a dead NES console for $10 so I'll be able to use that to make accurate measurements. What do you think?
