This is the final step to start the final step of my MAME machine :). I'm about to order a Control Panel from mameroom.com.
http://www.mameroom.com/ProductDetail.asp?ID=CLASSICCPKIT

This is the start of the end. Everything I try to do at this point ends in "well I can't test this fully without my actual control panel" or "I don't know how this features gonna work without my full control panel". So I end up giving up and stop working on it.

So I'm ready to go ahead and order this and eliminate any chance of me coming up with anymore excuses.

I was just hoping someone can look over my plans and correct my spacing on the buttons/joys etc. I just kind of winged it to give a general idea of how many buttons/joys I wanted etc and where I wanted them. I'm horrible at planning/measuring..I can wing it but it won't be right. If anyone could straighten them up for me a bit, I would greatly appreciate it. As far as spacing everything out on the CP I'm completely lost. I'm not sure how far up from the bottom, how far in between each other...any of that.

Also this will be attached to my Mortal Kombat 2 cabinet. should I be concerned about weather or not it will fit in the space I have? or will it be best to get measurements first and see how it mounts?

Ive attached below a screenshot of the program as well as the editing file for Mamerooms Control panel maker if anyone is generous enough to help me with it.

otherwise any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Blanka

Why are 7 and 8 aligned, where 20 and 23 do not?

Do you want PAUSE and RESET buttons?  Do you want PINBALL buttons on the side?

Oh yeah I should of specified, sorry. I have one pinball button on each side. I figure the three buttons in the center can be Pause, Reset, and Exit/Menu... although maybe I should add one for Shift as well for any commands im forgetting... thats something else I was hoping for advice on, anything im not thinking of other than the obvious player buttons and

Pause, Reset, Exit, P1 Start, P2 Start, P1 Coin, P2 Coin, Shift, and 2 Pinballs.

Oh, also theyre uneven because I just put them basically where they're going to go, Im going to have to realign everything there so that it's spaced right, which is what I need help on. I could wing it and put them where I think they'll go, but ill most likely be way off and have to redo them anyways. So I just stuck them in the general area, to give an idea of what im going for.

bump, real life got in the way, but I'm still looking to order this. I just never was able to figure out the correct spacing of the buttons and things for the top panel there.

Any advice/help on spacing and placing of the buttons correctly would be greatly appritiated.

Panel's fine IMO.  Simple and effective, the ways I like 'em.   Make sure you don't want a spinner before ordering thought (it's easy enough to add anyways).

Just make sure your button alignment is fixed.   And also, SHIFT buttons can be any other button (usually start).  You don't need (and shouldn't put) a dedicated SHIFT button.  Keep it hidden and secret.  Shhsh.   ;)
