arkanoid resolution
« on: August 22, 2008, 12:28:03 am »
What screen resolution should arkanoid be set?  I have it at 356X288 which is supposedly the default, but the ball is super choppy.  Everything else looks good, though.  When trying different resolutions, I can get the ball smooth, but then part of the screen is cutoff.

I checked MAWS. The actual resolution is 224 x 256, so if you are using a horizontal monitor try 321 x 256 or 352 x 256.

Thanks, I'll give this a try.

Everything was working fine and then I went to play one day (it was set at 352X256) and the image for some reason was completely distorted.  So distorted that I couldn't even read the word arkanoid.  At other resolutions, I have issues with the ball being choppy or the image being cropped.  If I check "triple buffering" the ball flows smoothly, however the sound is choppy.

Thanks for the heads up on the resolution, it works GREAT!  Sorry for my ignorance, but where is MAWS so that I can check in the future and how did you come up with 321X256 from 224X256? Is there some formula for converting vertical screens to a horizontal screen.
