How is this CP held on?

Hard to tell, but am wondering if anyone has seen this type up close?

The design of the cabinet looks similar to a TMNT (or a Midway sports).  So here's how it's done on this TMNT:

In the attached picture of a stripped TMNT, you can see three pieces of wood glued and nailed to the cabinet (they are around 5" long and 3/4" deep and wide). The pieces of wood are fitted with internally threaded anchors. You can see the silver heads of the bolts that screw into the anchors. I didn't get the original CP, but I would think it has holes (possibly also threaded) in the same position. One could reach in from the back to access the bolts. This would make for a secure permanent (non-swappable) CP. I'm still thinking about how to make a sturdy swappable CP system. I think it will start with a shelf on top of the protruding bottom of the cab.

I have one of the 4-player TMNT type cabs. Mine has 3 holes in the cp that tighten into T-nuts that are in the little wood blocks.

This is similar to how we affix the panel on our 'King' cabinets. To make them removable though, we mount strong roofing bolts from the inside, poking out. The control panel is then mounted in place on the ends of the bolts ad secured in place using large washers (to spread the load) and wing nuts.

I don't think so. Granted, the picture I posted isn't clear, but it appears there's no 'CP shelf', which is why I asked. I can't make out any kind of supports underneath, either, though I'm guessing there are some.

Ummon,

I agree with you, looking at the cabinet from the side, it appears there is no shelf (I drew in that orange line).

If you had the same pieces of wood fastened to the sides of the CP as the cabinet, you could secure the sides with bolts. The bottom would be slightly more complicated. For strength, I would think you'd want the CP to extend over the inside front of the cab. If it did that, you could bolt it to a piece of wood and threaded anchors that was positioned similarly to the one on the TMNT. I wonder if there's a brace underneath the CP on the outside front of the cab as well?
