Hi All, I am New Here With Many Questions
« on: August 08, 2008, 04:18:25 am »
Hi everyone.  I am new do this forum, but have been working with games for about 10 years.  Curently I am Building a MAME Cab fron Saints book, and will be restoring my game collection soon.  Please be patient with my story, and spelling.

I got my hands on a small arcade from a bowling alley about 5 years back, and 3 years ago while I was working out of state my wife decided to put all my stuff in storage.  As I have been back and forth for quite awhile I am now working from my home.  So I thought it time to bring my games back home.  When I went to storage I found a nightmare.

They are now safely at home in the shop.  They all need monitor work at this point, and a few tube necks got broke when they got moved into storage.  I don't know what happened to the glass for my Haunted House, or why it won't work now.  As it worked before.  I also have a Donkey Kong cocktail table, I just haven't taken in pictures of it yet.  It is fully functional and play great.

More info and Pictures to come soon.  If photobucket is not an ok way to post pictures please let me know and I can post them in my messages.  I just didn't want to resize them all right now.

Thanks for looking

That's a sweet collection. You'll have a great little arcade of your own when you have them all up and running.

Welcome to the community  :)

That looks like a nice little collection you have there.

Feel free to ask any questions. It looks like you have some experience and may be able to help others too.

Using Photobucket is a great way to show pictures. You can just click and paste the box with the IMG tags into the forum and they will show up, Just make sure they are not too physically big otherwise the forum will resize them and the results are not always pretty.

It helps to post pictures in a thread as many people don't want to follow a link and its also easier to understand if there is a picture in a thread rather than trying to locate the image yourself.

Ive posted one of your pictures for you, I hope you dont mind.

Enjoy your stay

Thank You.   In my previous job it gave me a lot of woodworking and electronic skills.  Plus a ton of other things.   I am sure that I will have Many questions along the way.  And I look forward to helping out anyway I can.

Good luck with that Haunted House. I bought a HH many years ago as a gift for a family member - and I swear that thing was haunted! Not with ghosts, but it had a mind of its own - no matter how many times we fixed it, it would break down again. We finally sold it and the guy who bought it waited almost a year to pick it up - he had to drive from somewhere in the mid-west to south Florida. When he finally did make the trip, he wrecked the rented van a mile from our house!
Robots will kill you.

Yeah this Haunted House is no different it has always been a pain in the rear.   But I love playing on the 3 playfields.

Here are a couple of shots of my Donkey Kong Cocktail Table

Here is a shot of the Switch that I added to the Coin Return Button for free play.

That is a very nice collection.  I never thought a mame cab should be the center piece. ...rather, it should be the one that fills in the void around a collection of real machines.

-------- gp2x and retro... play it forever! ------------------------

Yeah in reality the MAME Cab is for older games that I haven't had any luck getting my hands on.  Such as Q*Bert, Moon Patrol, DK Jr, games like that.
