My Marquee....
« on: June 09, 2003, 10:41:35 am »
This is my first post, but I just wanted to post the marquee I'm gonna be using for my arcade...

It was a 4 player simpsons, converted to a Xbox/Mame machine and now using a 24" flat screen TV as a monitor....It is going in my pool/game room, which is decorated with all Dallas Cowboys stuff, thus the Dallas Marquee...

I also have 22" Dallas Logos being printed on vinyl for side art...(should be here this week)
Keep in mind, the full size images are 8400 x 2250, 4-channel CMYK, 300 dpi. Physical
diminsions are 28" x 7.5"

These things look really good blown up bigger than this.....I will be using emdkay.net to print these out for me....

Moving on, what's with the gold "feet" on the bottom of the star?

If you build a frankenpanel, chances are I don't care for you as a person.

Very nicely done.  It looks nice and professional.  But what are you trying to do with the feet of that star on the cp overlay?

I don't know if they are feet or not.  Kinda looks like the star "dug in" to the field and that is the dirt that it pushed up.  I'll admit though, it does have a golden look to it.

it does look good, don't get me wrong, very polished, but I don't understand the feet, then again, i guess it has to stand on something lol

It's a deformation effect on the texture of the field. Look at it as green, and you will see the deformation of the white lines from the field. The effect works better on the left tine than it did on the right.

Well, I'm not a cowboys fan, but if you're into them then I guess it's cool.  I would lose the deformation effects myself they look a little like green gumdrops.

And why are they reflective? Thats some shiney grass! It makes it look golden. It's not bad, just odd.

ok, maybe a little bad.  ;)

Looks to me as if the Star is crying. Maybe the Cowboys need to win a game or two.  :D

hehe...nice guesses with the "gold feet"

The image I posted is WAY smaller than the real thing...thus the quality is nowhere near as good....Once blown up,  it is a lot clearer what the effect is...

It basically is supposed to be the star coming up off the field in a 3D look, and those spots are actually where the corners of the star are "melting" the marquee.....

Try this...
