I have two ultrastiks that i just wired to my cabinet.

When I plugged them in (and set the IDs), i was testing them through the control panel and noticed that the two behaved differently.

this is what i did.  I go to the
-> Control Panel
-> Game Controls
-> See the two Ultrasticks
-> Click on Ultrastick 1 and Run the test where you see the centered "X" and as you move the stick, the x floats around (analog) as expected.
-> Click on Ultrastick 2 and Run the same test, and the stick only hits the diagonals (Full diagonal!!) No Up, Down, Left, Right.  Just all top left, top right, or bottom left, bottom right.

I immediately thought the stick was broken, and played an 8-way game (Alien syndrome), and the stick worked fine (i have the mala / fatfinger plugin).

So i'm confused, do i have a bad stick or is it fine at run time?  Or am i missing something?

I am guessing one of your sticks came with a diagonal map applied to it.  Try running ultramap and applying different maps and then after each map is applied testing your joystick like you did earlier.  If the joystick only registers the directions of the last applied map, then you're good to go.
