jamma help please... i dont know what im doing....MK2 content
« on: August 07, 2008, 07:38:50 pm »
so i bought this mk2 version 3.1    on ebay this week.

the guy said it worked 100% tested ect...   i realize i need the kick harness and the sound is not hooked up because he did not send all the cables with the board.  eitherway, i figured it would at least work without sound and kick buttons but im wrong.

the cab is  a Jamma clutch hitter which like MK has a horizontal standard res monitor and the same power configs.....
so why is the screen flipping like this?

what can i do to make it stop?
even flipping, i can see that there are some rom errors .. bah. i hope i didnt get screwed...

You need to adjust either the horizontal or vertical hold( can't remember which :banghead:)

Midway boards put out signal at a slightly lower frequency.

ok i found it. they didnt look like anything adjustable at first but after tinkering for a minute i figured it out.  so! i got the screen to stop jumping,  but on loadup it says i have 4 bad roms.  the main menu works, but as soon as the game actually starts it goes haywire again.  did i buy a bum pcb? is it worth trying to fix my self or should i contact the guy about returning it?

Pull out the offending ROMs one at a time and re-insert them(to clean the pins). If that doesn't work, replace the bad ROMs.

i wasnt refering to the illegal downloads, but buying  the actual "bad" chip in my board, just so i am not banned... anyway, would i be able to replace the bad roms with good eeproms ?
in MAME   do   rom# files = rom# chips?

4 bad roms... thats like $30 for him to burn you new ones; you mine as well splurge and get all the different MKII revisions like 4.2 and the challenger set.

how much did you spend on that board anyway?
