hanaho keyboard encoder
« on: August 07, 2008, 12:14:39 pm »
so i got my hands on one of their encoders and pushed it aside since i had an ipac.

today at work i realised i have some extra puttons, switches, and sticks as well as a monitor lying around. So all i really need for a small little bar top is the encoder (and pc ofcourse).

the problem is i have no idea how to wire this bad boy up. anybody have experience with one? i will upload a pic when i get home. it connects via ps/2 and has a pass through so i guess i could connect it and do some trial and error but i thought i would check here first to see if anybody had used one before. thanks.

IIRC, you can't remap the buttons; make sure your software can use whatever keys to wire your buttons to.  I think a keyboard needs to plugged in to the passthrough port to pass the keyboard test at bootup (might need to disable the test in bios depending on bios).  There are keys in the encoder that were not wired to any buttons, but I can't remember what they were OTTOMH.

Otherwise it should be fine.
