Issue with LED's
« on: June 08, 2003, 09:02:46 pm »
On games that use the keyboard LED's, if the LED's are flashing, the keyboard inputs become unstable. For instance, when scrolling through the in-game menu, if the LED's are flashing (after inserting coins), for moments, key presses are not registered.
At first I thought it was the I-Pac, but I connected the keyboard directly to the PC and still get the exact same problem.
Is this a MAME, keyboard or motherboard issue?

Thanks.

I tried with v0.57 (which I keep for Shinobi) and there are no problems.
Any clues?

It'a a MAME issue.
MAME changed the way it handles the LED's somewhere between 0.57 and the current version.
The new method, causes this behavior in some motherboards and keyboards.
