Modern Fighter Cabs?
« on: March 12, 2002, 07:49:31 pm »
I'm thinking of building a cab in the vein of fighters such as Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Capcom VS SNK where the screen is back farther and the controls are like a seperate piece a few feet away... I'd like to use a flat screen TV for the monitor , throw a decent audio system in it and store the actual pc inside of the control box (and just run the wires under the carpet between the two...

Bleh,  meant to finish this last night but got sidetracked ;)... anyways do you guys think this is a feasable way of building a cab? I've never really seen it done before, but I suppose it's possible.

From the description I don't see anything that would be too difficult to do, so sure. And it sounds like you've got a pretty good mental picture of what your setup will be.

The cabinet style you are refering to is called a "showcase" arcade cabinet.  There was talk about construciton plans for one of these awhile back (Mr. Salty had the dimensions...but I haven't seen him on in awhile).
