4-player CP help wanted will pay
« on: June 08, 2003, 04:47:46 pm »
Any things I should watch out for? Besides elbow room, wrist space?
Do most people tilt their players 3 and 4 joysticks?
thanks
Derek

edit: What was the standard dimension for a 4 player cab--I remember seing one that was said to have pretty good room for 4 players. Couldn't find it in the searches...

Here is what I think is a pretty good example of a 4 player layout it:  http://www.slikstik.com/photosquad.htm  I believe it is about 48" x 20".  Depending on the games you plan on playing you may want to reduce the number of buttons the third and fourth player have though.

More 4 player resources  from CitznFish's FAQ:

I hope that helps.

A consideration:  If your CP is 48" wide, as mine is, you really dont need to angle the sticks and buttons.

Remember: If you ever want to play any 2 player 2 joystick games......(smash TV, total carnage, etc), having those 2 extra sticks angled can be a pain to remap...

I didn't angle mine, just put the sticks a little further out...I've played 4 player games...people are shoulder to shoulder.....but then again....take a look at an original gauntlet game..you're practically in each others lap :P

Does anyone have a Visio file of their 48x20" 4-player CP? Or could anyone help me with that. I am looking for something like this:
Player3            Player1            Player2             Player4
   xx                   xxxx                 xxxx                     xx
    xx                    xxx                   xxx                      xx

I really liked this CP layout: (Pic 1) and I like the artwork the outline type thingy (capcom, neogeo, outline etc). Can someone make this for me for a 4-player CP. I am willing to pay.  PM me if anyone is interested, all I ask is that you have patience and create a stencil for me to print out when cutting holes. I looking to change the background a lil. I just like the structured look etc. its slick. Thanks
Derek
