Does a USB hub create any latency?
« on: August 02, 2008, 11:01:49 pm »
I was thinking of using a USB hub inside of my control panel and plugging my U360's and trackball into it; mainly just to keep things neater.  I was wondering if there was any downside in doing that?  Latency or any other issues to worry about?

The USB specification allows for +5v at 500ma *per port*.  The only way to insure that everything inside the panel gets enough power would be to place a powered hub in the panel... so you would need to run an additional power line to the CP.
(I was considering doing the same thing)
