New cocktail cab from scratch...
« on: August 02, 2008, 02:03:22 pm »
Hi friends, I don't know if I should have posted this in the project announcements
section??? Anyways I've been putting some ideas down in 3D Max in the pictures
 below.

As you can see I actual idea isn't much different to an US Pacman cocktail...
but as I got to modelling the top...I thought "Why would I need to have it shaped?"

I'm also waiting for some tools so I can't really start it yet physically...
 opinions welcome...

Not sure if that was the official control panel you were thinking of, but I think you should do 3 buttons per player on the vertical sides
It fits nicely on a standard sized 9" galaga/ms pacman type cocktail control panel:

otherwise, yeah, it looks like something I'd be happy to have in my living room.  (hint hint!)

just my opinion on the control panel. id make the button patern the same on the 2 player side as the 1 player side. being that the button closest to the joystick (2 player side) is towards the bottom. and on the other (single player side) its towards the top might get awkward. unless your planning that for certain games?
1) 533,800
2) 477,300
3) 445,400
4) 374,300
5) not sure

Well I was going to have a multi - Williams panel for the front bit...
so I won't be able to play some games

I think it will be 2 8 way sticks on that front panel.
