I got the marquee from ebay and temporarily installed it (does any one know where to get donkey kong marquee brackets ...thanks). I also began making the holes for the control pad.
Finished the holes and installed the buttons.

Also installed the clamps.

First of all, welcome to BYOAC.

Secondly, let me just say that I respect the hell out of you for attempting to restore what is essentially just a shell. I mean you don't even have the marquee hardware. So, if you need any help, let us know. It will take a lot of $$ and resources to re-populate that machine and re-sticker it back to its original glory. Thanks a bunch for not Mame-ing it...speaks volumes on your behalf.

And good luck.

Yeah +1 !!

If you can get registered you could try the KLOV forum and ask if people have some of these parts.

Else www.mikesarcade.com has it....

Good luck !!

Looks like a Happ dealer to me. No specific Nintendo parts. Mike's got the Nintendo brackets. And a lot more Nintendo specific parts.

No problem my friend.

All fairness to www.mikesarcade.com

He does have the Marquee Brackets/Metal Parts and a decent JOYSTICK replacement.

O, and the claim on Twistedqurter's site that those buttons are exactly the same color is not true, as we all know.

Hell? Are any out there these days the exact color?

I still have my original ones put away. But they look like horse sh!t.

And i wouldn't want them on my machine.

You know what i mean?

No, but that doesn't give the right to state something that's simply not true....

Hey, not the end of the world, I don't have anything against twistedquarter, I just happened to see it...

I'll buy them off you then.  8)

Seriously, I've bought entire CP's off eBay just to get those original dark blue Nintendo buttons. I can always use some extras.  ;)

I think i have more than just one set?

I save everything!

I have a Metal Nintendo CP,  Button's and i think 2 Nintendo 8 ways left.

You wouldn't happen to have 2 Happ 8 ways lying around would you?   :)

Put a WTB post on here in the BST section, and on KLOV in the WTB section. Then search eBay. As a final resort as money permits....Mike's Arcade sells them.

Marquee brackets came in today, ( thank you Albert G.)
I sanded them and temporarily installed them because  I still need to paint them.
Found a cheep DK JR bezel and bought it in hopes of being able to one day sell it or trade it for a DK bezel, so if any one wants to trade message me.

Now I just need the 2 most expensive things: the monitor and the PCB.

I think the  marquee brackets look better semi gloss instead of flat.I painted both the brackets,CP and coin door semi gloss,so they all match the black part of the cab around the bezel and CP.
I know who Phet is and many of you do not.

Its been a long time, but I am DONE!
I have to start off by saying sorry, why because I M.A.M.E.d my cab.  :-\
Reasons why
1. $$$
2. 2p
3. Marvel vs Capcom
4. Metal Slug

I used an old computer monitor I had. Made a new 2 player CP with a Marvel vs Capcom theme. I bought the joy sticks and buttons on ebay for $25. Not having an extra computer I made it so I can install and remove my laptop.
Using two inexpensive usb game pads that I bought for less than $15 for the interface, I took the game pads apart and soldered the connections.

With the control panel finished the only thing left to do is play.

Don't worry I still have the Donkey kong CP and I plan to restore the cab to its full glory when I have the $$$.
Until that happens this is a good temporary fix that will satisfy my gaming need.
