U360 vs HP360 Questions
« on: July 31, 2008, 07:18:49 pm »
I already checked out a previous thread comparing them, but it was an older one and I wanted to see if opinions had changed. I currently have the competition joysticks. I like the stick heads on those, but am interested in switching to a 360 joystick. I already have a dedicated 4 way joystick so restrictors aren't an issue. How difficult is it to wire a 360 to say a hagstrom encoder and 5v power source? I'm assuming I can change the joystick top of the u360. How is the play (give) of each joystick. Again Love my competition and the only reason I'm upgrading is for smoother game play.

The HP360?  Are you referring to the Perfect 360 that Happs sells?

If that's the case then the only real similarities between the 2 sticks is the name.

The U360 is a fully featured analog stick while the Perfect 360 is a switched based joystick.  The thing that sets it apart from other switch based joysticks is the fact that it uses optic switches rather than mechanical switches.

If you want to get away from the feel of a joystick with mechanical switches then I think both of them would do the trick but I think the main selling point on the U360 is the automatic mode switching capability that it has.  It makes for a very versatile joystick and yes you can switch the top out if you like.

Yes I was referring to the Perfect 360. I don't mind the feeling. I'm just thinking with fighting games and other console emus in my cab a p360 or u360 might be the way to go.
