Difference between UJ and TT
« on: July 30, 2008, 11:39:38 pm »
Hi Gang,

Can anyone tell me the difference between Ultimate Jukebox and TouchTone 3?

Apart from a few subtle skin changes and different pricing (UJ is not as expensive) they seem the same.

I would appreciate any input from those who are using either pieces of software.

My 30 day trial is due to expire and I haven't had any problems with either software. Because of the 300 file limit on the trial version I have not been able to try out karaoke using CDG files. Shouldn't be a problem though from what I can gather.
As always, any input/advice on these two programs would be most appreciated.

I use UJ because it was cheaper and has the same features.  I don't use karaoke so I cannot help out in that department.  One observation is that I have a few albums (maybe 3) that either don't play or when played they cause UJ to freeze up.  Just a minor flaw so far.  Other than that it works great and looks very professional!

Wow, UJ looks like a total copy of Touchtone.

I think they are the same app. Both sites accept the same payment method, chances are the touchtone site has just licenced it. Something simular is going on with The PC Jukebox, i found very simular software on another site it turns out they just licenced it and rebadged it.

Barry, I have a question for you regarding Freebox that I would like to have on UJ but can't seem to find the setting anywhere. Maybe you can shed some light on the issue.

I wish that UJ had a setting that would cut off a song at a specified length.  You know how some songs usually at the end of a CD have a bonus track so the song can be anywhere from 6 minutes to 15+ minutes.

I think it would be cool to have a feature that the user could specify let's say after 7 minutes the track will stop and the next song in queue will start up so if I'm outside working or chillin out I don't have to go downstairs to the juke to skip to the next song.

Make sense?

Makes perfect sense, the option you want that is... However i am not sure what you are asking of me. Do you want me to add this option to freebox? I can, it's a 5 minute job if you want it adding in. However you say you want it in UJ, nothing i can do about that I'm afraid.

I guess I wasn't too clear with my question. Sorry.  I was curious if Freebox offered this feature and if not, would it be easy to add.  Seems that it would be an easy addition.  If UJ can't\won't, I may have to make the switch to FB :)

I can add the option for you no problem. It will be in the next release.
