Kester Solder Clearance at Grainger
« on: July 28, 2008, 01:16:02 pm »
Grainger is blowing out some Kester Solder at under $6 per pound. I picked up some "44", my local store didn't have any of the "245". I've been trying to find a local source for this stuff ever since I picked up a Metcal on ebay, because I didn't want to spend $35 to have a pound of solder delivered.

The caveat is that mine was manufactured in 9/2006, and it doesn't have an infinite shelf-life. I don't know if this is an RoHS stock issue or just removal of aging stock.

my guess is that it's a little of both aging stock and RoHS.

Funny that RoHS will probably cause more waste than it prevents...
