They sometimes have problems with going over their permitted bandwidth usage for the month.  You might want to try again the first of the month.

yep, we have to wait until the first of the month.

Barry checks in here.  Ask your questions I'm sure he'll pop in.

Well, that's where we go a-ridin' into town, a whampin' and whompin' every livin' thing that moves within an inch of its life. Except the women folks, of course.

Well as i only make about $25 a month i can't afford hosting that allows more bandwidth. It should be back on the 1st aug, we will see... If not then ces't la vive  :dunno I do have 4.0.11 ready for release once the site is back up so that's some good news for you.

Is there some way you can provide a download link on this forum or send an email with a link to those people who have paid for V4?

I have had big probs with the new versions released in the past weeks.

What do you mean in your last post by "If not then ces't la vive". Do you plan to continue developing FreeBox?

hey, I trhouch one your users hosted the site for you (kizer)?

I coul help you out, since I only use few procent of the bandwidth I can use on my webhotel (I have a 400gb month limit, but actuelly only use few gb).

I could host your demos and your Touch OS (I asume you going to call that for your little FE)?

barry,   just seen this thread..ignore my pm.  you can have my website(or a portion of) i keep offering, it still sitting completly unused and its paid for!

you can have full access, i have:
300000 MB of space available
3000MB of bandwith

-all unused and has been for years, and when it expires im buying another two years, just to keep the name and pretty much just the email usage at this point. but for now you can have it if you want it. LMK.

The forum is not that problem with traffic.... Its the download and skins, which take all traffic. I even might think he released too many releases of row, which just have broke the traffic limit?

That happens some times.

I see even v2.20 seen still been dowloaded from my mirror I donated (131 downloads this month) and I do not plan to remove that. Hence I could add the v3 and v4 demos as well.

No all the downloads are offsite on kizers webspace. It has been just the forum traffic that sent it over the limit.

Yeah its just one of those things.

I try and host everything I can for the Jukebox app and I have received PM's asking for the download URL in the past, but not this time and I will not entertain them so don't ask.  :banghead:

Like said it should be up in the next few days. I'll get with Barcrest and see if there is anything else I can do to lighten the load, but honestly if its just forum traffic then hes just one busy dude.  ;D I hope nobody takes it personal and Im sure they don't, but its just something that happens when things get really busy.

I just wish hosts would allow you to customize the message or warn you a head of time so you can take action, but they just don't.

Yes they could have emailed the author when traffic limit hit about 90%, so you do have a change to do something... But they never do that.

In Denmark many host markerthing like they have free traffic, but typically it a limited free traffic or something otherway.

The main problem is propenty to move the forum database as well the frontpage.

Where the files are stored for the Jukebox app there is plenty of space. ;)

Available Disk Space: 300000 MB
Bandwidth Monthly limit: 3000.00 GB

I guess its just a matter of fine tweaking Freeboxjukebox.com to make sure that every file is limited on the forum side. I know Barcrest is all over that so I'm not even going to get into that. A while ago I offered to help with the hosting of files just to remove the burden and let Barcrest do what he does. Code, Code, Code. The site has been running really smooth, but I there has been some file attachments in some of the posts and well things do get busy over there so maybe that's the bottleneck.

then file attachments should been disable for normal use and instead use of mirrors, like yours (possible using password & username for registred users).

Look like I dosent have to offer anywebspace for files. Just the forum must been optimized without file attachements.

Its always up to Barcrest and I know your doing a mirror for the demo and I'm sure its never a bad idea to have some kind of backup plan, but not sure what else to do. I just think having some bizarre URL isn't a good idea like www.iamkizer.net/freeboxjukebox/forum/ isn't to user friendly so like you mentioned just keeping the forum kinda lean and mean is the trick. I know there are a few addons you can pickup for SMF "Forum Software" which arcadecontrols, freebox and heck even my other website links4jeeps.com uses so you can add images on a remote host.

I think no matter what happens its obvious that Barcrest has supporters that are willing to step up and help and like I've said many times. I'll host it all and I ask nothing in return. Heck I've even donated many times over because I like all the new features he continues to add and seeing glimpses of the newer stuff hes been working on keeps me really interested like  :censored: .

Lo, I diddent ever think Freebox's forum actuelly used over 300gb of traffic without any sign of downloads or skins used on its own domain (I asume it use godaddy's Economy Plan)? The domain might even just registred there and use a another webhotel.

Otherwice thinking about to setup some robots.txt rules so search bots dosen't index freebox forum, which is not really needed?

No, the space we host the files can host 300gig. I have no idea what Barcrest's host is capable of.

look like it happens that again. Look like it would do that in each month without upgrading og optimizing the site (like freebox logo and a simple frontpage)?

Otherwice some forums could even been closed to the registred members to bring traffic more down. I guess many bots bring the traffic up without to reviset ethe forum and just upset the traffic for no reason, due to a missing robots.txt file?

I think you are correct here. Your forum is much more used than the frontpage, so you can of course have more focus on that.

Anyware, the demo is still down and only the link from the other thread works:

I think the frontpage could redirect to either the above or this thread (where the demo link does NOT work)?
