Is this possible?

Hi all , my first post. Great forums btw :)

Could you take a metal control panel (1 or 2 player version) from a astro city type jap cabinet and somehow convert it for use with consoles or pc? I'm after the Sanwa parts (and the base too) you see and I've seen single player panels for

I'm an idiot, disregard topic guys. Been reading about the I Pac. Sorry :(

if you have the jamma harness in tact you could use a JPAC to plug right into that... although that's only really useful for PC application, i.e. no love for consoles.

If you *HAD* to have both consoles and PC in the same cabinet you could go the playstation pad hack and usb adapaters / adapters to other systems... or use an x-arcade encoder pcb with the adpaters for your system...

*shrug* good luck and welcome to the boards!

I think I misunderstood your original query, upon a second reading...

Are you making a desktop controller (er... lap controller) to interface with your PC/consoles?  If so my advice was off center -> I assumed you were using the whole astro city cabinet, and not just the control panel.

An ipac, or key wiz or mk64, or playstation pad hack or x-arcade pcb with adapters *may* be what you are looking for... depending =P

good luck,
