Q: GGG TT2 and Electric Ice Trackball
« on: July 13, 2008, 12:42:34 pm »
I want to buy one of each for the cabinet that I'm building.

The TT2 can be purchased as a master (w/interface) or slave.

Can the TT2 be purchased as a slave and hooked up the to Electric Ice Trackball?  Does the necessary cable come with the TT2?  ???

The advantage would be that I would have only one USB cable [leading to the PC] supporting both devices.

Is there a disadvantage?

Hey GGG... is your website e-mail working?... I've asked this question directly and I didn't get a response.

The trackball can be attached to the TT2 interface, but not the other way around.  In doing so, you would be limiting the TT2 to the Z-Axis, which, because of the way the OS handles the Z data, is more sensitive than the X or Y without either patching MAME or finding a release that fixes this.

If you are interested in doing this, I can supply a special version of the trackball that will allow a TT2 Slave to attach to the Z axis on the trackball interface.  But you would need to specify this in the comments section at the time of checkout.
